Ever get frustrated with things not working out on your timetable? There are so many old adages about God and timing its difficult to keep them all straight. One that has always stuck with me is something my dad told me many, many years ago. He said, “You will only know God’s will in hindsight.” In other words, God has a plan that you and I don’t really ever get to see or understand this side of heaven.
I was reminded of that in Guatemala a few weeks ago.  Pastor Cristian reminded the team of the lesson that God had been speaking to him all year – MY TIME, NOT YOURS.  It’s a good reminder that no matter the continent, God works in the same way, mysteriously.  And while it makes no sense to me the way in which He works regarding my preferred time frame, I’m thankful for promises such as Jeremiah 29:11.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
He knows what He is doing, and better yet when and how He is doing it.  Be encouraged; no matter what obstacles you are facing. God has a plan for you, and although you might think you know what is best, His timing is always proved best in hindsight.
